Originally built in 1957 and operating under a few names, most locals know The Luce Hotel as the former Postcard Inn on the Beach. After sustaining severe damage from Hurricanees Helene & Milton in 2024, the property underwent a significant transformation. In the Spring of 2026, it reopened as The Luce, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. The hotel's vibe blended its nostalgic Old Florida roots with a modern and refreshed coastal design. The hotel offers a new take on the classic St. Pete Beach resort experience.
The Luce Hotel Wedding Venue Options
Beach Ceremonies: Couples can choose between the Partial Ocean View and the Direct Ocean View. Both provide a stunning view of the famous St. Pete Beach coastline. It should be noted that the Direct Ocean View is available as an upgraded option.
Palm Court Garden: The outdoor lawn space features market lights, lounge seating, and lawn games that can be kept for your celebration or removed from the space. We all know that the Florida weather can be unpredictable which means that the Palm Court Garden is able to have a tent covering. The space can seat up to 200 guests and can also host your wedding ceremony if you don't want to be in the sand. It is the most versatile space available for weddings at The Luce Hotel. It should be noted that all loud music must conclude by 10:00pm in accordance to local requirements.
Luce Ballroom: The 2,280 square foot ballroom is available for wedding receptions and as a back up space for outdoor celebrations if the weather is not so friendly. The Luce Ballroom can accommodated guest counts up to 150 for seated dinners or up to 200 for cocktail styled events. Couples can keep their celebration going until midnight.
COMING EARLY 2027 | Palm Pavilion: The beachfront tiki-style pavilion features Gulf views, market lights, and a built in bar. It will be able to accommodate up to 80 guests for a seated affair or up to 150 guests for a cocktail-style event. It will also be a great option for cocktail hours and welcome parties.
Flexible Spaces: Other available spaces for your wedding at The Luce Hotel include Terrapin Terrace, Caretta Caretta, Palm Court East Firepit, and The Loft, among other flexible spaces that are perfect for rehearsal dinners, welcome receptions, bridal events, brunches, and intimate gatherings.
The Luce Hotel Bridal Suite
Included with weddings hosting their ceremony and reception on-site at The Luce Hotel is the complimentary bridal suite. The suite is available as early as 7:00am on your wedding day but if your hair and makeup needs to start earlier in the morning, they can accommodate. The suite is available up until your ceremony begins. For those having their ceremony off-site, the suite can be reserved for a fee.

The hotel partners with a local cigar roller who visits The Luce once per month to roll fresh cigars for their humidor.
